There are moments when you hold on so tightly — to a plan, a person, or a dream — that your hands start to hurt. You’ve prayed, planned, and poured your heart out, yet things keep slipping away. You wonder, “Why would Allah take this from me when I wanted it so much?”
If this is you, know this: sometimes, Allah withholds not to punish you, but to protect you.
He removes what you thought you needed, so you can discover that all you ever needed was Him.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
“And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him.”
(Surah At-Talaq, 65:3)
Reliance on Allah isn’t about giving up. It’s about giving in — surrendering to His wisdom with full trust that His plan is always better than yours.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Know that what has passed you was never meant to befall you; and what has befallen you was never meant to pass you.”
(Tirmidhi)
What you lost was written to leave, and what you’re waiting for will arrive at its appointed time. Allah never forgets the du’as whispered through tears — He simply answers in the best way, at the best time.
So when life doesn’t go your way, don’t let despair fill your heart. Instead, open your hands and say: “Ya Allah, I trust You.” Because the one who truly trusts Allah never loses.
Even when you don’t understand His plan, know that your Rabb — Al-Wakeel, The Best Disposer of Affairs — is already working things out in ways you cannot see.
Let go. Trust Him. And watch how everything starts to fall into place, just as it was always meant to.
