The Light Within

There are nights when darkness feels endless — when your heart feels numb, your prayers feel dry, and your faith feels faint. You start to wonder if your light has gone out.

But know this: your light never disappears. It only hides beneath layers of pain, waiting for your remembrance of Allah to awaken it again.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.”
(Surah An-Nur, 24:35)

His light is not just around you — it’s within you. It shines every time you choose forgiveness over anger, hope over despair, or prayer over silence.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to supplicate:

“O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my tongue, light in my hearing, and light in my sight…”
(Muslim)

Even when life feels dim, every act of worship rekindles that inner flame. Every SubhanAllah, every Astaghfirullah, every tear shed in sujood becomes a spark that pushes away the darkness.

And just as the dawn follows the night, so too will relief follow hardship. Allah promises:

“And whoever Allah guides – there is no one who can mislead him.”
(Surah Az-Zumar, 39:37)

So don’t lose hope when your faith flickers. Tend to it with remembrance and trust. Because your light — the light of iman — was given to you by the One who never lets it go out.

Let it shine again, even softly, and soon your whole world will be illuminated by His mercy.
